EnduroCross Media Press Release:
Northern California local Cody Webb will race with the red plate as the points leader heading into this weekend’s GEICO EnduroCross Championship round in Sacramento. The Beta USA and GEICO-backed rider won the opening round in Las Vegas and finished second at round two during the Austin X Games event—he currently has a one point lead over KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak.
“I was very bummed to miss the Sacramento round last year since it is like a hometown race for me compared to the other rounds. Going into round three with the points lead is a huge deal and I am excited to try and maintain that this weekend” Webb said.
Webb is sure to face stiff competition from Blazusiak and fellow Northern Californian Colton Haaker. Haaker currently holds third place in the point standings and has been charging hard. Blazusiak, a five-time EnduroCross champion, took the win in Austin to get within one point of Webb. And Haaker has proven to be the fastest rider on the track for the timed hot laps but has been frustrated with second and fourth place finishes at round one and two. So he will be looking for a win.
There is a strong field of riders looking to force their way into the championship mix in Sacramento including FMF KTM’s Taylor Robert, Husqvarna’s Mike Brown, top Canadian Cory Graffunder, Trials legend Geoff Aaron and current WORCS series leader Gary Sutherlin.
Round three of the 2014 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship will visit Sacramento, California on Saturday, June 21st.
The Lucas Oil Productions team will again be producing one hour shows for the eight AMA EnduroCross events that will air on MAVtv. The Sacramento event will air on July 26th at 11:00 am EST and re-air at 2:00 PM EST.
